Council approves several zoning‑map changes, including Dogwood Drive amendment

The council introduced and adopted a resolution amending the comprehensive plan at Dogwood Drive East after a reading by title. Council then considered an ordinance on behalf of White River Independent Living LLC to change a parcel at the end of Dogwood Drive East from C1 to R2; the council read the ordinance by title, waived additional readings and proceeded to a vote, which was reported as carried.

Separately, the council considered an application from property owner Brian Kimmer to change zoning on a North Central Avenue parcel and approved the motion after waiving second and third readings. Later in the agenda the council addressed a corrective ordinance to update the official zoning map for a portion of Ball’s Second Addition (R1 to C1) to reflect an ordinance from 1984 that had not been correctly entered into the map; that motion likewise carried.
