Northfield Council voted unanimously on March 9 to accept a $928,724.50 bid from Tri‑Mor Corporation for the Coventry Drive Reconstruction Project and approved several budget measures, including fiscal‑year 2022 appropriations and an election to use American Rescue Plan Act funds under the standard allowance for government services.
Engineer Daniel Collins requested council approval of the Tri‑Mor bid so the contractor may be notified and begin planning. Councilmember Alan Hipps moved to accept the bid; Renell Noack seconded. Law Director Brad Bryan said that, while the motion approved the award, he will prepare a formal resolution for the next council meeting to finalize the contract award. The roll‑call vote was 5‑0 in favor (Ferko, Noack, Magistrelli, Hipps, Lewis).
At the same meeting Council adopted Resolution No. 2022‑21 setting appropriations for fiscal year 2022 and Resolution No. 2022‑22 authorizing the Finance Director to elect the ARPA standard allowance under Section 603(c)(1)(C) and to use ARPA funds for provision of government services. Bryan read the resolutions by title and council suspended the three‑reading rule before adopting each measure; all votes were unanimous.
Council also approved Resolution No. 2022‑20 to accept Northeast Ohio Public Energy Council (NOPEC) 2022 Energized Community Grant funds. Bryan read that resolution by title and the council voted 5‑0 to adopt it.
The meeting record does not specify funding line items or which funds will cover the Coventry Drive project; the law director said he will prepare the formal resolution for the next meeting, which should include contractual details and funding source allocations. The meeting was adjourned at 7:51 p.m.
