Finance Director and Clerk of Council Jennifer Potvin told the April 27 meeting that she had been contacted by PEP, a risk-management insurance pool representing about 570 municipalities in the state, regarding insurance coverage for the Village. Potvin said PEP provided an attractive quote last year but the Village was unable to consider it at that time and asked whether the Finance Committee or full council would like a presentation. Council expressed interest in a presentation before the next council meeting.
Potvin also said new finance-system modules are in the process of being installed; these modules include payment systems for utility bills and building permits. No vendor details, contract amounts or implementation dates for the finance modules were provided in the meeting record.
Council did not vote on insurance options at the meeting; the minutes record interest in an informational presentation and steps toward upgraded payment functionality for residents.
