Engineer Dan Collins told the council at the April 27 meeting that a preconstruction meeting for the Coventry Drive Project occurred April 20 and that the contractor was granted permission to start work at 7:00 a.m. The contractor's planned workday is ten hours Monday through Thursday, with Fridays available as makeup days if weather forces cancellations.
Collins said the contractor will hand-deliver a work schedule and a contact number to residents so they can raise questions. Councilmember Gary Vojtush asked whether Coventry residents could receive parking stickers to prevent tickets if they must park overnight on other streets during construction. Service Superintendent Jason Walters said the current plan does not anticipate shutting down the road or restricting resident automobile access but that stickers or placards could be provided if circumstances change.
The engineer did not provide a contract start date beyond the preconstruction meeting note, and no road closure schedule was on the record. Council requested direct resident notification and a contact number from the contractor.
