At a special hearing recessed from its regular meeting on Sept. 9, the Pawnee City Council unanimously adopted the 2024–25 fiscal year budget and set the City’s 2024–25 property tax request at $230,059.06, yielding a proposed tax rate of 0.638486.
Council Member Susan Eisenhauer moved to open the hearing and later moved to close it after no public comment; Council Member Donnie Fisher seconded both motions. The budget adoption and tax-request resolution (Resolution #8) passed by unanimous roll call.
The council also reviewed the Treasurer’s report and agreed the clerk would prepare an updated fund-balance report as of Sept. 24 so members can see individual fund positions before the fiscal year closes on Sept. 30.
The actions taken authorize the administration to carry out the adopted budget and to publish the property-tax request as required by state law; council members did not record any dissenting votes or amendments during the meeting.
