The West Kennebunk Village Committee on Feb. 12 approved its January minutes and moved forward on plans for a May 2026 community meeting and the 2026 Family Fun Day, but members said they still need volunteers to run the event.
At the meeting, committee members discussed possible locations for the May public meeting after noting venue capacity limits and agreed the agenda should include safety, the town vision, ongoing projects, an overview of the WKVC and information about Family Fun Day. Committee member Cory Kuhl said he would prepare a one-page FAQ to hand out to attendees and members proposed advertising on sandwich boards, with printed flyers and the town website.
The committee reported the historical plaque for a local site is currently in storage and is slated for spring installation. The committee also heard a routine financial update that showed no change since January.
In public comment, community member Linda Moore raised concerns about speeding and missing lane lines on Middle Road and about snow mounds that create sight- and travel-hazards; the committee provided Moore with the town Public Works contact for follow-up.
Committee member Jenn Martell said she solicited volunteers on social media in January but had received no responses; members discussed potential activities for Family Fun Day and agreed to continue outreach to recruit volunteers.
The committee announced an open member position and set its next meeting for March 12, 2026. The meeting adjourned at 7:16 p.m.
