MSAD 19 moves two scholarship funds into CDs, adds superintendent and business manager as signers

The Maine School Administrative District No. 19 School Committee on Feb. 5 approved two motions to move district-held scholarship funds into certificates of deposit at Bar Harbor Bank and Trust.
Jane Lanctot moved and Richard Eaton seconded a motion to move the 'Dollars for Scholars' scholarship funds into a CD and to add Superintendent MaryEllen Day and Business Manager Chad Allen as signers; the committee voted 5-0 to approve. Later the committee voted 5-0 on a similar motion, moved by Jane Lanctot and seconded by Chair Trisha McCurdy, to move the 'Charles and Matilda Leighton' scholarship funds into a CD and add the same signers.
During public comment Anna Street reported union bake-sales raised $440 to fund two $300 scholarships the union will award to high school students. The committee recorded the bank-account actions as approved and directed central office staff to complete necessary account paperwork.
