At a called hearing on Aug. 19 and at a second hearing on Aug. 26 county officials presented a proposed county millage rate of 8.512 mills. Chairman Charles Coffey and County Manager Thomas Weaver noted the five‑year digest history is public record and that the county’s gross digest rose by roughly $64 million. Both hearings drew no public speakers, and the board voted to adjourn each hearing.
On Aug. 26 commissioners discussed the millage brief at the work session and directed staff to place the rate on the Sept. 3 regular meeting agenda for formal adoption.
The proposed millage of 8.512 mills remains subject to final adoption at a later meeting; the minutes do not record the adoption itself.
