The Belgrade Select Board voted Feb. 3 to amend the historical‑society lease covering several properties, extending the timeframe to remove collections from 30 to 90 days and clarifying the facility name.
Staff walked through the draft amendment, noting consistency with a recently executed lease at the Center for All Seasons and North Belgrade Community Center. Board members asked whether the 2014 agreement needed renegotiation; staff said the amendment would add a ninety‑day removal period (section four) and that a new signature page would be prepared.
Members also asked staff to standardize the facility name in the document. Several members agreed the commonly used name is Oldtown Meeting House and directed staff to change all references accordingly before final signature. The board moved, seconded and approved the amendment.
Staff said they will circulate a revised agreement with the corrected name and updated removal clause for signatures.
