Resident urges town to press sheriff, offers property for River Road patrol

Board members acknowledged the concern and discussed a portable speed-measuring sign that the department or town can deploy. A board member said the town's device had been damaged previously but indicated they would "see what we can do" to follow up with the county and check available equipment.
Why it matters: Residents say speeding has created a safety hazard on a road used for walking and dog-walking during early morning hours. The request for county enforcement and use of speed-sign technology are immediate, operational responses rather than policy changes.
The board committed to contacting the county sheriff's office and to exploring use or repair of a speed-measuring sign; no formal vote was required.
