Glassport council approves sewer televising contract and seeks PA DEP permit for Channeling Wall work

Glassport Borough Council on June 18 approved two public-works steps aimed at diagnosing and repairing sewer and channeling infrastructure.
Council voted 5-0 to enter a monthly equipment-subscription agreement with Edge Al not to exceed $2,000 per month to begin televising the borough’s main sewer. Council also authorized televising the main sewer, including inspection and PACP coding, at a cost not to exceed $2.50 per foot. The motions were presented as part of the Public Works report and carried unanimously.
Separately, council authorized borough staff to proceed with permitting with the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection for a planned bypass associated with Channeling Wall repair work. Council described the permitting step as required to move forward with remediation of the Channeling Wall area.
Public-works updates included a schedule for core drilling on Summit Street the week of June 24 to investigate road conditions and provide a remediation recommendation; Summit is currently posted for local traffic only.
The televising work will provide inspection footage and PACP coding to inform repairs and budgeting; council authorized the contract terms and capped costs for the inspection work.
