Selectboard accepts minutes, notes school-board vacancy and upcoming resilience partnership

At its Dec. 17 meeting the Selectboard accepted Nov. 18 minutes and Planning Board minutes, noted a School Board vacancy, recorded the upcoming Maine Community Resilience Partnership start, acknowledged the new (absent) Animal Control Officer, and reviewed finances.
The Town of Hanover Selectboard accepted the minutes of its Nov. 18, 2024 meeting and acknowledged receipt of Planning Board minutes, which it also accepted.
Town Clerk Kelly Harrington reported no items for the clerk’s portion of the meeting. During the financial review the board noted that tax receipts are coming in for November 2024.
Under old business the board recorded a vacancy for a School Board member; no appointment was recorded in the minutes. Members also noted that the Maine Community Resilience Partnership is scheduled to begin work in the spring, and they asked questions about the timing of FEMA funds for disaster-related reimbursements.
Under new business the minutes note the appointment of Eric Giroux as the town’s new Animal Control Officer; the minutes record that Giroux did not attend the meeting. The board reviewed and signed warrants and adjourned at 2:30 p.m. The next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2025, at 1 p.m.
