The Town of Hanover Selectboard met on Sept. 16, 2024, and accepted the minutes from the Aug. 19 meeting before hearing reports and discussing several ongoing items.
Town Clerk Kelly Harrington reported that Town Meeting will be held Oct. 29 at 6 p.m. at the Gem Theater in Bethel, Maine, and said preparations are underway for the upcoming election. Harrington also noted that Frank S. Morrison Jr. will remain on the Selectboard.
Under old business, the board discussed the need to fill a vacancy on the School Board; the transcript records the discussion but does not identify a candidate or record an appointment. The Selectboard also reviewed participation in the Maine Community Resilience Partnership and discussed plans to order replacement windows and doors; Harrington said funds for that work are expected to be deposited at the end of September (deposit amount not specified in the transcript).
Members discussed coordination with the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and said they are holding meetings to determine what needs to be completed before winter. The transcript records discussion of FEMA-related work but does not identify specific tasks or timelines.
The board noted that the audit "went well" and that a draft had been sent by Mindy; no findings or a date for finalization were recorded in the transcript.
For new business, the Selectboard set a budget meeting for Sept. 30, 2024, at 3:30 p.m. The board also agreed to contact Krecklow’s office about a warrant item related to the Gould property. The agenda included review and signing of warrants; the transcript lists that item but does not specify whether warrants were signed during the meeting.
The meeting was adjourned at 4:38 p.m. The next Selectboard meeting was scheduled for Oct. 21, 2024, at 3:30 p.m.
