Valley View directs engineer to prepare plans and bids for Stone Road and Tinker Creek bridge replacements

The Village of Valley View council on June 3 approved two separate motions asking the engineer's office to prepare plans, specifications and advertise for bids for two bridge projects: Stone Road and Tinker (Tinkerers) Creek.

Todd, addressing council, said the county will remove the existing bridge deck and that village staff have coordinated with police and fire to minimize disruption. Todd said the village intends to delay their work until the county's scheduled removal so the replacement can be as seamless as possible; he estimated the period without a bridge would be brief, ‘‘hopefully less than, you know, two months’’ and noted county work was expected around Thanksgiving 2026.

Council then voted to approve a motion instructing the engineer to prepare plans and advertise for bids for Stone Road bridge removal, walking‑bridge replacement and associated intersection improvements, and separately approved the engineer's plans and bid advertising for the Tinker Creek bridge removal and walking‑bridge replacement. Both motions passed on recorded voice or roll calls.
