The Danville Forestry Committee voted on procedural matters and personnel recommendations at its Feb. 10, 2026 meeting.
Chair Carsten Springer moved that the committee recommend member Tim Caine for reappointment to the Selectmen; Vice Chair Chip Current seconded. Caine abstained from the vote; the remaining committee members voted in favor and the motion passed, the committee recorded. The committee also voted to accept the meeting minutes as written after a motion by Current and a second from Springer.
Earlier in the meeting Springer proposed changing the committee’s March meeting date from March 10 to March 17 and moving the start time to 7:30 p.m. to accommodate Daylight Saving Time; Current seconded and members voted unanimously to approve the change.
Why it matters: the recommendation to the Selectmen begins the formal process for reappointment; the committee noted that Tim Caine will submit an application for reappointment according to the procedure established by Town Clerk Michelle Healy. If the Selectmen reappoint him as expected, Caine’s term would extend through 2029, the committee said.
Context and next steps: the committee’s membership roll was read into the record, with term end years noted for each member. The committee’s recommendation will be forwarded to the Selectmen when they make appointments in March. No final decision on Caine’s appointment appears in these minutes; the Selectmen make reappointment decisions at their scheduled appointment cycle.
