Resident asks to restore Kibbe Lane streetlight; DPW to check inventory and criteria

A resident who said the light on Kibbe Lane went out in November told the committee the stretch near Lower County has become a path for late-night bar crowds and vandalism, and asked whether restoring the streetlight might deter that behavior. “There used to be [a light] there,” the resident said.
DPW staff said the pole remains but the fixture was removed; the department maintains an inventory of approved light locations and restoration must meet selectboard criteria or be budgeted. “If there was indeed a light down on one of these poles here, we can usually get it back on a pole that was there,” staff member Chris said, and he agreed to investigate the historic location and whether the site meets the criteria for reinstating a light.
Staff also encouraged residents to report crimes or mailbox damage to police so incidents are documented, which can strengthen a request for infrastructure changes. The committee asked staff to return with findings and, if necessary, an item for the DPW list for restoration or funding consideration.
