Shelton approves library construction payments, denies contractor change order

The Village of Shelton Board of Trustees on Nov. 13 approved payments for two contractors working on library projects and voted to deny a requested change order from one contractor.
The board adopted Resolution No. 25‑11‑13A to issue payment of $24,332.00 to Tri‑City Concrete, LLC for the Library Parking Addition. Utility Superintendent Gillming told trustees he believed an additional $544 change order stemmed from the contractor’s failure to follow job specifications, specifically removing more brick than required; after discussion the board voted separately to deny that change order.
The board separately adopted Resolution No. 25‑11‑13B to pay Sorensen Construction $16,390.80 for work completed and stored to date on the library elevator project. Both resolutions passed on unanimous votes.
Both resolutions direct the village clerk to issue payment within ten days. The denial of the Tri‑City change order does not negate the approved payment for the work accepted by the village; trustees said they expected contractors and staff to address specification compliance on future work.
