Shelton board approves pool and bathhouse plans, sets $4.17 million probable cost and January bid timeline

The Village of Shelton Board of Trustees on Nov. 13 approved project drawings and specifications for a new bathhouse and pool and authorized the project engineer to seek state approval and begin the bidding process.
Larry Steele of Miller & Associates presented updated plans and an engineer’s opinion of probable cost of $4,172,300. The board voted unanimously to adopt Resolution No. 25‑11‑13, which authorizes Miller & Associates to submit the plans to the state and start advertising for bids. The engineer and staff outlined a schedule to advertise by Dec. 1, 2025, open bids on Jan. 7, 2026, and allow the board to award a contract at its Jan. 8 meeting if the schedule and bids permit.
The vote formally approved the drawings and began the procurement phase; no contract award was made at the meeting. The resolution directs the engineer to obtain state approvals required for the project to proceed to bidding. The board did not amend the engineer’s cost estimate at the meeting.
Next steps set by the board are the state submittal and formal advertising for bids in December and the January bid opening and potential award. The board’s action authorizes staff and the project engineer to continue toward those procurement milestones.
