Eastport Council renews multiple food and drink licenses, approves appointments and routine items; tables Yield Hookers’ street-extension request

The Eastport City Council on a regularly scheduled meeting renewed victualer licenses for a set of local businesses, approved a special entertainment license renewal for C View Events and carried a series of routine administrative actions, while tabling a separate request for a temporary extension of premises by Yield Hookers.
Council moved, seconded and by roll-call votes approved renewals for Breakwater Breeze; Eastport Coffee Roasters; Happy Crab; Horn Run Brewing; Kilby House; Milicanin House; Old Sa u Grill; Yield Hookers; Phoenix Wines; Picnic; Rosy’s Hot Dog Stand; C View Events; and Wacko Diner. Council also approved renewal of a special entertainment license for C View Events, which allows that business to hold ticketed events such as weddings at its Norwood Road location.
During the public hearings the council considered a new temporary extension of premises for Yield Hookers at 106 Water Street for events from June through October. Council members and staff noted confusion about the map submitted with the state application and the absence of a representative from the applicant to walk the council through the proposal. A councilor moved to table the application and ask the applicant to clarify the map and attend the May meeting; the motion carried by roll call.
On a separate slate of routine business the council:
- Appointed Rachel Williams to the Digital Equity Committee (motion approved by roll call). - Rescheduled the June 10, 2026 council meeting to June 17 and the November 11, 2026 meeting to November 18 (motion approved). - Accepted the election warrant for the state primary scheduled June 9, 2026 (motion approved). - Appointed election and ballot clerks (April Tero; Julie Leffin; Donna Theer; Theresa Mey; Cammy Duchaine; Sarah Muta; Vicky Morang; Cindy Mitchell); roll call showed four yes votes and one abstention (Councillor Morang abstained). - Authorized advertisement of the FY2027 municipal fuel procurement bid (one-year contract) and approved a liquor license for a cruise-ship-style scenic tour on Sept. 15, 2026. - Voted to table a proposed realtor bid policy to allow more time for policy work. - Approved the third-quarter sewer commitment for FY2026 as presented in the packet (amount recorded in the meeting packet as “$174,8569,” a figure that appears to be a transcription or formatting error and should be clarified in the municipal records). - Tabled approval of the March 25, 2026 minutes for further review.
Motions were decided by roll call throughout the meeting. The council later entered executive session under the cited state statutes for personnel and legal consultation and returned with no action to report.
The council’s next regular meeting date was adjusted as noted above; the Yield Hookers extension will return to a future meeting with clarified mapping and applicant representation.
