Platte Center board adopts Wellhead Protection Plan as Ordinance 2025-006

Jon Mohr of LRE Water said the draft was published with 30 days’ notice in the Humphrey Democrat on Aug. 13, 2025, to allow any village resident to view the document; the board recorded that no public comments had been received. Also present were Jake Maslonka, Daryl Andersen and Jake Pittman of Lower Platte North and board member Bob Hilger.
The plan adoption places a local framework in place for identifying and managing potential contamination risks around the village’s wellhead areas. The board did not record any amendments during the meeting; the motion’s formal description in the minutes was to "Approve the Adoption of the Wellhead Protection Plan; Ordinance 2025-006." The minutes do not specify an effective date beyond the adoption vote.
