Buckeye Lake council adopts three appropriation amendments; one pay-plan ordinance tabled

Councilor Douglas Keener moved to suspend the rules and adopt Ordinance 2024-56, which amends the village’s permanent appropriations; the measure passed and was adopted on a 7–0 roll-call vote. Council later approved Ordinance 2024-58 following a motion to suspend rules; that ordinance was also adopted by a recorded 7–0 vote.
Ordinance 2024-57 — another appropriations amendment — was initially moved to a second reading and then brought back to the agenda. After motions to suspend rules and adopt, the minutes record the ordinance as passed with a 5–2 tally and identify Councilors Deb Julian and Tom Wolfe as recorded nays. The transcript contains inconsistent roll-call lines for the motion to bring the ordinance back and for adoption; however, the final recorded outcome in the minutes is passage 5–2.
Separately, Ordinance 2024-55, an amendment to the 2024–25 pay plan, appeared for first reading and Councilor Sue Wadley moved to table it; the table motion passed unanimously 7–0.
What this means: the council adjusted appropriations through emergency amendments, which permits quicker budget changes; the pay-plan amendment will be reconsidered at a later meeting after being tabled.
