Council President John Lemmon announced that Fire Chief Keisha Amspaugh submitted her resignation, effective Sept. 1, and the council thanked her for her service to the village.
Later in the meeting the council voted to enter executive session to consider personnel matters pertaining to the Fire Department; the council entered executive session at 7:56 p.m. and returned to open session at 8:28 p.m. No further action was announced in open session regarding fire-department staffing at the meeting.
The mayor also acknowledged receipt of the resignation in her report. The council did not discuss or vote in open session on successor appointment or interim coverage; those matters are unresolved pending further council or administrative action.
