Richfield committee reviews bus stop, sidewalk, road dedication and paving punch list

At its May 28 meeting the Richfield Streets & Highways Committee addressed a set of operational and capital items beyond the crosswalk and Allega Way signal. The committee supported adding an RTA bus stop on Columbia Road and discussed extending the Brecksville Road sidewalk from the county line to Columbia Road; the sidewalk extension will be considered in a future budget.
Committee members said Pulte is expected to request dedication of New Briarwood Road; police enforcement of speeding on that road cannot begin until the road is officially dedicated and made public. Brecksville Road paving is near completion, but punch-list items such as cleanup and raising catch basins and key boxes remain; Scott Waldemarson said Kenmore Construction will not be paid by the state until the outstanding items are completed and ODOT accepts the work.
The committee set follow-up tasks to estimate the sidewalk-extension cost, to monitor Route 21 punch-list completion and ODOT acceptance before final contractor payment, and to consider the Briarwood dedication request when it is formally submitted.
