Selectboard reviews audit, finances, school board vacancy, FEMA mapping and town meeting plans

At its Oct. 21 meeting the Hanover Selectboard accepted the Sept. 16 minutes and heard a report from Town Clerk Kelly Harrington that the town audit "went well." The board reviewed the monthly financial statement for September and noted that liens will be processed "in the next week or so."
Under old business the board recorded a need to fill a school board seat and discussed the Maine Community Resilience Partnership, noting work under that program is expected to start in the spring. The board also discussed FEMA map updates and suggested adding culvert and ditch work to the maps and marking FEMA ID numbers for priority features.
On new business the board confirmed that Town Meeting will be held at 6 p.m. at the Gem Theater and noted light refreshments will be provided. The minutes also record that Craig Schneider did not attend. James Barker requested that future selectboard agendas, minutes and reports be emailed to members at least a week before meetings.
The board reviewed and signed warrants and adjourned at 5:04 p.m. The next regular meeting is set for Monday, Nov. 18, 2024 at 3:30 p.m.
