Rome Select Board approves minutes, $48 contingency transfer and accepts $45 in donations; tax collector proposes expense-line change

The Rome Board of Selectmen approved several routine administrative items at its March 9 meeting. Philip Burnworth moved and Larry DiPietro seconded approval of the Feb. 24 meeting minutes; the motion passed 3-0.
The board approved a motion by Philip Burnworth, seconded by Larry DiPietro, to transfer $48 from contingency to cover the extra cost of printing Town Reports. The minutes record the transfer as approved 3-0.
First Selectman Kelly Archer moved and Burnworth seconded acceptance of two small donations to the Rome Ball Field: $25 from Robert and Elizabeth Sullebarger and $20 from Laurie Raleigh. The board approved acceptance of the donations 3-0.
Tax Collector/Treasurer Tammy Lyons recommended amending Article 30 in the Town Report from "Office Supplies" to "Office Expenses" to allow expenses incurred with tax liens to be charged to that line item. Lyons also reported she is working on the upcoming transition for the Tax Collector and Treasurer positions.
The minutes note the Town Office will obtain the schedule for General Assistance training from the Maine Municipal Association. The meeting adjourned at 8:11 p.m.; the next regular meeting is scheduled for Monday, March 23 at 6:00 p.m.
