Administrators briefed the Bearden School Board on several non-voting items at the August meeting, including facility improvements, student handbook issues and upcoming procedural events.
High school principal Lavell Wright discussed student handbook policies regarding cell phones, other electronic devices and vaping; the transcript records the review but no policy vote or specific language change was recorded in this meeting. Superintendent Denny Rozenberg updated the board on current college and vo‑tech students and described the elementary Pee‑Wee basketball program. Rozenberg also reported that new thermostats had been installed at the high school and provided an update on plans for a 30‑by‑40‑foot metal storage building to be located at the west end of the football field.
Rozenberg informed members that an ethics hearing is scheduled for Oct. 8, 2025. Board members were also told about two training opportunities: Sept. 18, 2025 at the South Central Service Cooperative in Camden, Ark., and Oct. 27, 2025 at the Smackover/Norphlet School District (Region 13 training). These agenda items were presented for information; the transcript records no formal votes on handbook language, facilities approvals or training attendance at this meeting.
