The Bearden School Board accepted the immediate resignation of Te’a Scott and approved several cafeteria staffing actions during its August meeting.
A motion by Tony Harcrow to accept Te’a Scott’s resignation was seconded by India Weatherly and recorded as passing unanimously. The board also rehired Wendy Brandon as a part-time cafeteria worker and Maria Cross as a full-time cafeteria worker on a motion by Weatherly, seconded by Ken Juniel; that motion passed unanimously. Separately, the board voted to terminate Cindy Beck (part-time cafeteria worker) for not showing up to work; the motion to terminate was made by Tony Harcrow, seconded by India Weatherly, and passed unanimously.
These personnel items were handled during routine business and recorded in the meeting minutes; the transcript does not include employment contracts, severance terms or further personnel discussion. The board also approved insurance coverage for Superintendent Denny Rozenberg during the period of an ethics complaint (motion by Joannie Cayce, seconded by Tony Harcrow), a separate personnel-related action that passed unanimously.
