Approval of minutes was handled early in the agenda. James moved to approve the minutes for the May 19, 2026 meeting and a motion to approve was seconded by Jack Deeb; the members voted to approve. James then moved to approve minutes for the special meetings on May 29, 2026 and June 3, 2026, each time seconded by Jack Deeb, and each motion carried.
Members reviewed reports on business and property developments, noting recent sales of businesses in town. Representatives reported no new updates from the Burlington & Central CT Chambers of Commerce or from the Northwest CT Economic Development Commission. Several local nonprofit organizations — listed as NHCOG NAA-Lions Club, Wigville Preservation, the Historical Society and Create — had submitted materials for consideration in an unspecified program or list.
Under Old Business members noted one open vacancy on the body. Discussion of the budget confirmed that the budget currently sits in the general fund and that requests for funds will be made on a case-by-case basis.
During the Projects portion of the meeting, members said the Business Sign Regulations have been updated to the current format. The group also reported that LiveFromBurlington.com is awaiting approval. Members continued discussion about ways to attract new businesses to town but did not record formal decisions or funding commitments on that topic.
Reports on recurring programs indicated no new developments for the Farmers Market, the Best of Burlington: Food Edition, or the Sidewalk Stroll. Under New Business, no items were raised.
Gregg moved to adjourn the meeting; Jack Deeb seconded, and the meeting was adjourned at 8:07 a.m. The body listed its next meeting as July 21, 2026.
