Hanover Selectboard accepts May minutes, reviews expected FEMA funds and town projects

The Hanover Selectboard met on June 18, 2025, at the Hanover Town Office and accepted the minutes from its May 20 meeting. The board convened at 4:00 p.m. and adjourned at 5:15 p.m.
Town Clerk Kelly Harrington told the board the Town Office will be closed on June 19 and July 4 and said the town needs to mark pavement for handicap parking. Harrington also noted that resident Gail Worcester used the Pavilion for a celebration of life for Bill.
During the financial review for May 2025 the board heard that tax revenue is coming in and that FEMA funding is expected within roughly 30 days. The board also recorded that a FEMA extension has been granted through Nov. 30, 2025.
Under old business the board noted a vacancy on the School Board and encouraged recruitment to fill the position. The board discussed the Maine Community Resilience Partnership award, including the requirement that those funds be used by June 30, 2026, and said it will meet with “Ed and Andy” next week to advance related planning. Road work was reported to be progressing; board members said staff will inspect remaining areas to determine what work is left.
A sign-up sheet placed at a Special Town Meeting was noted for a Town House committee to help organize repairs and improvements. On the agenda under new business were items listed as “Solid Waste” and “Other,” but no substantive action on those items is recorded in the minutes provided. The board reviewed and signed warrants and set its next meeting for Tuesday, July 22, 2025, at noon.
