Noise ordinance: The council reviewed and then adopted ordinance 202601, an amendment to chapter 16 (nuisances/noise) intended to clarify definitions, allowable hours (including explicit weekday, weekend and government holiday language), exceptions for permitted special events and enforcement. Council members said the revision narrows prior vagueness in enforcement standards and will replace broader language with specific day definitions; the council also approved a summary publication (resolution 200664).
Plats: Council approved a preliminary plat (D‑26‑003, Mastell addition) and a final plat (D26‑005) for property at Heath Avenue and West Comfort Drive submitted by JK Property Management Company LLC; staff noted four standard conditions of approval.
Personnel: Fire Chief Bower asked the council to conditionally appoint Pam Ros as a part‑time paid‑on‑call firefighter and EMT (step three at $29.28 per hour), pending psychological, medical and drug screenings. Chief Bower said Ros has certifications including EMT, Firefighter I and II and hazmat operations, and that the city would schedule necessary inspector certification training when classes are available. The council approved the conditional hiring.
Other business: The council approved holding a July 7, 2026 work session at 5:30 p.m. to review the streets capital improvement plan and received project updates from staff, including a road rehabilitation project expected to be complete by mid‑July.
