Flatland project update: tillpond grant extended to Sept. 30, 2027; parking, dock and shelter work scheduled
Summary
Staff reported Flatland applied for and received a formal extension of a tillpond grant to Sept. 30, 2027; remaining work includes parking lot grading, culvert installation, late-summer dock installation and shelter installation in late fall with final sign-off expected spring 2027.
At the June 16 meeting staff summarized progress on Flatland-managed projects and said the tillpond project grant end date has been extended to Sept. 30, 2027 to allow continued work.
Work underway and scheduled includes grading of the parking lot and trail, installation of culverts for water control, late-summer dock installation, concrete work for the shelter and sidewalks late this summer, shelter installation in late fall, and site restoration and plantings targeted for fall. Staff said final park signage, cleanup and sign-off are planned for spring 2027.
The board was advised that parking lot grading should be completed by the end of August and that the street department will pave the lot and trail after grading. Staff said they expect construction to occur before the grant end date but described Sept. 30, 2027 as the formal grant-cycle deadline.
No vote was required at the meeting; staff will invite Flatland representatives for a fuller update at the July meeting.
