Magnet Cove board approves routine business, accepts three resignations and moves February meeting

At the Jan. 30 meeting the Magnet Cove School District #8 board approved the Dec. 15, 2025 meeting minutes and the district’s financial statements by recorded 5-0 votes.
The board accepted three staff resignations effective at the end of the 2025–26 school year: Michelle Shuffield (elementary school teacher), Jan Whisenhunt (elementary school counselor), and Tammy Alexander (high school teacher). Each resignation was accepted following motions by Mr. Mike Hughes, with seconds recorded, and each acceptance passed 5-0 on the board’s recorded vote.
The board also approved moving the Feb. 16 regular meeting to Feb. 23 because of a holiday; Mr. Mike Hughes moved the change, Mrs. Samantha Nuckolls seconded, and the motion passed 5-0. The meeting adjourned at 6:42 p.m.
