The Board of Education of Magnet Cove School District #8 unanimously approved several routine operational items at its Dec. 15 regular meeting in the Central Office Board Room.
Board President Jeff McJunkins called the meeting to order at 7:00 P.M. and the board voted, 5-0, to approve minutes from the Nov. 17, 2025 regular meeting and the district’s financial statements. Board Member Mike Hughes made the motion to approve the minutes and financial statements; Board Member David Sulton seconded.
The board then adopted the 2026–27 school-year calendar as presented. Mike Hughes moved to approve the calendar; Karen Scott seconded. The motion passed 5-0.
On a separate motion, the board authorized the district to sell 100 iPads in exchange for store credit. Board Member Samantha Nuckolls moved the approval; David Sulton seconded. The motion passed 5-0.
Board Member Mike Hughes moved to reschedule the district’s Jan. 19, 2026 regular meeting to Jan. 26, 2026 because of a holiday; David Sulton seconded and the motion passed 5-0. The meeting adjourned at 7:16 P.M.
