The Magnet Cove School District #8 Board of Education on Nov. 17, 2025 accepted the resignation of Special Programs Secretary Morgan Stevens, effective Jan. 1, 2026, and approved hiring Carolyn Price as Special Programs Secretary to begin Jan. 6, 2026 pending successful completion of background checks.
The acceptance of Morgan Stevens’ resignation was moved by Samantha Nuckolls and seconded by Karen Scott; the motion passed 5-0. The hiring of Carolyn Price was moved by David Sulton and seconded by Mike Hughes; the motion passed 5-0. The minutes record that the hire is contingent on passing required background checks.
Separately the board adopted updated policy 4.47 to align with ASBA policy (motion by Mike Hughes, second by David Sulton; vote 5-0). The board also approved routine business including minutes from recent PPC meetings and the Oct. 20 regular meeting and approved the district’s financial statements; both motions passed unanimously earlier in the agenda.
The board approved moving the Dec. 15 regularly scheduled meeting start time from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. and adjourned at 6:43 p.m.
