Roxbury keeps five-year public-hearing policy for liquor licenses; Knotty Moose hearing set for March 11

The Roxbury Board of Selectmen on Feb. 25 agreed to continue requiring public hearings for liquor-license applications on a five-year cycle and to allow the Town Clerk to submit license approvals or denials through the new online system.
Selectman Timothy Derouche made the motion to continue five years of public hearings and to authorize the Town Clerk to submit approvals or denials into the online licensing system; the motions were seconded and approved 3-0. The board instructed staff to add a waiver form to the process and to have the town office automatically schedule 30-minute public hearings as license applications are received.
The board also set a public hearing for the Knotty Moose liquor-license application for March 11, 2025 at 5:30 p.m. The board reviewed the application and noted discrepancies in the food-license document, hours of operation and the recorded distance to the nearest church and school. The selectmen asked that a representative attend the hearing and asked the chair to contact the sheriff's office to check for any complaints.
