Clerk-Treasurer Sarah Stoltzfus told the DeWitt City Council on Nov. 12 that the Nov. general election saw strong participation. She reported early voting had a “phenomenal” turnout across the county’s two sites, with nearly 9,500 voters combined, and absentee ballots produced a 97% return rate. Overall voter turnout was reported at 80.2%.
Stoltzfus praised the Absent Voter Counting Board and the election inspectors for their work during the cycle and told the council the 2024 election process was successful. The minutes record the clerk-treasurer’s recap but do not break the turnout figure down by precinct or specify how DeWitt’s local turnout compared to county totals.
No council action was required; the report was informational and acknowledged by the council.
