City Engineer Osborn briefed the Mendota City Council on several infrastructure projects during the Sept. 2 meeting, urging continued efforts to complete key public-works work and noting a need to prioritize road repairs on the city’s eastern side.

Assistant City Attorney Castro raised parking overflow on public streets tied to an increase in accessory dwelling units (ADUs) and discussed possible municipal responses to mitigate impacts. City Manager Cristian Gonzalez provided program updates on the Pool Park Rehabilitation Subcommittee and Pool Park and Community Center projects, and noted potential outside support: Townsend Public Affairs may present a grant update at a future meeting and staff identified a business grant opportunity at the ICSC Las Vegas conference. Council also discussed seeking additional Fresno Council of Governments funding and noted new housing developments in the city.
