Mendota council approves consent items, modifies CarMax vehicle purchase to $40,000

The Mendota City Council on Oct. 21 unanimously approved most items on its consent calendar and adopted a separate resolution to purchase a vehicle for the Mendota Police Department.
Mayor Pro Tem Jose Alonso moved to approve the bulk of the consent calendar — items 1 through 8 and 10 through 14 — and the motion passed 5-0. Item 9 (Resolution No. 25-65, a vehicle purchase from CarMax) was pulled for discussion.
Following discussion, Mayor Pro Tem Jose Alonso moved to adopt Resolution No. 25-65 authorizing the purchase of a vehicle from CarMax with a modified total amount not to exceed $40,000. Council Member Jesus "Jesse" Mendoza seconded the motion, which the council approved unanimously (5 ayes).
The consent calendar also included ratifications of letters of support for several regional grant applications, authorizations to apply for Measure C Safe Routes to School funding (Resolution No. 25-60), procurement authorizations for equipment and vehicles, and a proposed surplus-property disposal resolution (Res. 25-58). The council reviewed the warrant list (check nos. 56946 through 57104) with a total amount for council approval of $3,012,611.09.
No roll-call vote breakdown by member was recorded in the minutes for the consent calendar approvals beyond the unanimous 5-0 totals. The council adjourned at 8:17 p.m.
