Roxbury selectmen approve FEMA certification, weigh winter-road supplies and DOT projects

The Board of Selectmen reviewed winter-road preparations, reporting 600 yards of sand and 300 yards of salt currently stored in the salt/sand shed and instructing contractors to use the sand/salt mix unless absolutely necessary otherwise.
Selectman Timothy Derouche moved to sign a FEMA project certification form; the motion passed 3-0. The board agreed culverts need work and instructed staff to obtain quotes. Selectmen also noted the Maine Department of Transportation included Route 120 and Route 17 on its 2025 project list and said they will contact DOT about road-shape concerns on Route 120.
The board reviewed a state-provided landfill report and asked the owner (Wagner land) to mow the landfill annually. Members also discussed a Connex box vendor charging tax after a tax-exempt form was submitted and planned to investigate delivery and siting details.
