DeWitt District Library presents 2023–24 annual report to city council; students share job-shadow experiences

Glenn Fischer, director of the DeWitt District Library, presented the library’s 2023–2024 annual report to the DeWitt City Council during the Nov. 25 meeting.
Fischer provided the yearly summary as part of the public comment/presentation portion of the session. The minutes state Fischer delivered the 2023–2024 annual report; the council received the presentation but the minutes do not record specific statistics or recommendations from the report.
Also during public comment, students Ralph Asamoah-Barnieh and Shae McDonnell briefly described their job-shadow experiences with Mayor Susan Leeming and Mayor Pro-Tem Hunsaker. Council members acknowledged the students’ participation as an educational opportunity.
City Administrator Daniel Coss reviewed the written administrator’s report that was provided in the meeting packet. Clerk-Treasurer Sarah Stoltzfus told the council the winter tax bill has been calculated and is expected to be mailed the first week of December; she also said she will assist with a recount on Dec. 3 in District 7. Interim Police Chief Bryan Curtis gave a department update on recent activities.
The council took no formal action on the library report during the meeting; presentations were received for the record. The meeting adjourned at 7:43 p.m.
