River Ridge CDD adopts FY2024/25 budget and approves special assessments

The River Ridge Community Development District Board of Supervisors adopted the fiscal year 2024/2025 budget and approved a special assessments resolution at its Aug. 27, 2024 meeting in Estero.

At a public hearing opened and closed with no public comment, the board adopted Resolution 2024-07, relating to annual appropriations and the district budget for the year beginning Oct. 1, 2024 and ending Sept. 30, 2025, as amended to correct scrivener errors identified by Assistant Secretary Kurt Blumenthal. Chuck Adams, District Manager, told the board the version in the meeting agenda contained errors that were corrected before adoption.

The board also held a public hearing on Resolution 2024-08, making a determination of benefit and imposing special assessments for Fiscal Year 2024/2025. District Counsel Tony Pires recommended opening the hearing; no property owners spoke. The board approved an amendment to delete references to “Exhibit B” throughout the resolution and then adopted the measure.

Both votes were made on motions by Kurt Blumenthal and seconded by Robert Twombly and were recorded as approved “with all in favor.” Four supervisors participated (Bob Schultz attended by telephone) and one supervisor was absent. The board authorized continued budget amendments as needed in accordance with the adopted resolutions.

The fiscal-year budget covers routine district operations and maintenance; the minutes note one descriptive correction to the “Street sweeping” line item and a direction to reconcile outstanding 2022A and 2022B notes in the district accounting. The district manager and staff will post the final adopted documents as required.
