The Select Board unanimously approved a class A lounge liquor license for Michelle Seavoy Tilton on Dec. 18 for a venue at 144 State Road in West Bath (the former brewing space). Tilton told the board she plans limited food service—snacks such as popcorn, pretzels and a pizza warmer—along with live music and DJs, and said the state health department’s inspection backlog may delay her opening by about eight weeks.
Tilton explained she applied online and corrected the application with state staff; the application was updated to show nearby institutions and to change the license classification from "club" to "class A lounge." She said entertainment is acceptable so long as it is not excessive and events end by the local curfew described by licensing staff. Board members asked clarifying questions about hours and operations; the applicant said typical weekly hours will be Wednesday through Sunday, with later night hours on Fridays and Saturdays.
After discussion, a board member moved to approve the license; the motion was seconded and carried unanimously. The chair congratulated the applicant and noted the town will await the health department inspection timeline before a projected opening date.
