The finance committee reported the district is "still on track for what we budgeted" and that budget season is beginning. The building committee said a new compressor for JES’s heating system has been installed, the high school gym floor will be refinished Oct. 28, and the district is due for a three-year asbestos inspection. The technology committee reported the deadline to purchase device insurance had been extended, six new view boards were installed, and sixth-grade devices arrived in time for the school year.
Superintendent Suttie also noted operational items including planned drone photos of the high school field, district-wide fire-drill practice with positive feedback from the fire department, a district flu clinic scheduled for Oct. 24, and a middle-school trip to Camp Kieve. Board members thanked staff for the strategic-plan work and offered congratulations to fall sports teams on their postseason qualifications.
