Staff also reported an unlicensed contractor who entered into five home-improvement contracts across two counties totaling $182,000; those matters were referred to county district attorney offices for potential criminal charges including contracting without a license, fraudulent use of an incorrect license, accepting excessive down payments and theft by false pretense. Staff said the individual has been referred for prosecution repeatedly since 2016 and currently faces active warrants. (Staff member)
