College Corner council rejects separation agreement after mayor breaks tie

Mayor Molly Cason announced the reconvening at 7:17 p.m. Councilman Brian Toothman moved to approve the separation agreement; Councilman Wes Cedar seconded. The roll call produced three votes in favor (William Bake, Wes Cedar, Brian Toothman) and three opposed (Danyell Bolser, Ann McCoy, Mike Ruther). Mayor Molly Cason cast the tie-breaking vote against the motion, and the motion failed.
Toothman read a statement of appreciation for the employee’s service and directed that the statement be included in the meeting minutes. The council did not take further action on the personnel matter during the meeting.
The council had entered executive session earlier in the meeting under Ohio Revised Code 121.22(G)(1) to discuss the employment of a public employee; the session began at 7:01 p.m. and the meeting returned to open session at 7:17 p.m. No other personnel votes were recorded.
