Select Board approves two special alcohol licenses and adopts police-recommended policy edits

The Town of Charlton Select Board on June 16 approved two special alcoholic beverage licenses and adopted related policy edits recommended by the police department.
The board approved a license submitted by Matthew Zeriff on behalf of Timberyard Brewing Company for a vintage car event at 219 Brookfield Road on June 20–21. The application was reviewed and approved by the police chief, building commissioner and the fire department; board policy requires license dates include the day before and the day after the event to permit delivery and pickup of alcohol.
The board also approved a license submitted by Danielle Lacos for a live-action roleplay event at Camp Jolla (150 Richardson’s Corner Road) scheduled for July 4. That application likewise had departmental sign-offs.
Separately, Chief Dow and Deputy Chief Mason recommended changes to the police-department portion of the board’s special alcoholic beverage license policy. The board accepted those recommended edits and approved the amended policy on a unanimous voice vote.
The board did not attach special conditions beyond standard departmental recommendations; staff will reflect the amended police recommendations in the town’s application materials and license paperwork.
