Brunswick committee reviews town video work, seeks student help for fall projects

BRUNSWICK, Maine — At its June 10 meeting, the Brunswick Cable TV Advisory Committee reviewed ongoing town video work, discussed recruiting students to assist with production and noted tentative timing for the Growstown video project.
Weezie Mackey described her ongoing review of the town’s existing videos, explained categories she is using to evaluate content and gave examples of changes that might be made to improve usability and outreach. She also updated the committee on the Growstown video project.
Committee member Jenn Hicks asked about the town’s Facebook pages and the possibility of livestreaming community events. Dave Watson emphasized the value of using video to market Brunswick. Tricia Faulkingham recommended contacting school staff to recruit students for production roles; the committee discussed asking Ryan Weed and Rick Wilson to help assemble a package of student opportunities to be used in the fall.
Meeting minutes from the previous meeting were moved, seconded and approved unanimously by the six members present.
The Growstown filming schedule was noted as to be determined, with members expecting to begin filming in September. No formal contracts, budget figures or firm dates were recorded in the minutes.
