Mayor Ratliffe told the council that Stribling Equipment’s 320 P-Tier backhoe identified earlier was not available and that the city published a new request for bids on Aug. 7, 2025; proof of publication and a handwritten bid tabulation were presented. Three sealed net bids were reported, which included a trade-in of a 2009 New Holland B95B backhoe: Riggs Cat (Caterpillar 420) $99,905; Progressive Tractor & Implement (Case 580SN) $110,000; and Bobcat of Batesville (Bobcat B760) $80,605. The council accepted the low net bid from Bobcat of Batesville.
The backhoe is intended for use at the wastewater treatment plant; the transcript does not specify an installation date or financing source for the purchase. The council did not record separate amendments or conditions to the award in the meeting minutes.
