Commissioner Christina J. White moved and Commissioner Stacey Wise seconded motions that the County Commission of Brooke County unanimously approved the minutes from May 19, 2026 and the open invoices presented at the May 26 meeting. The commission also approved the county's annual contract with WVCorp/Riskpool for $172,673.00, with payments of $86,336.50 due July 1, 2026 and $86,336.50 due Oct. 1, 2026.
The commission authorized the Sheriff's Office to advertise for two new vehicles and upfitting; bids are due June 16, 2026, at 10:00 a.m. The meeting recorded approval of in-house budget transfers, including $20,000 to the Valuation Fund and $40,000 to Elections.
Attorney Erica Conti presented the Fiduciary Commissioner Report; the commission approved a recommendation to disallow a claim from First National Bank of PA and noted that a claim from Ascension Point Recovery Services, LLC on behalf of UMB Bank NA had been withdrawn by the claimant. The commission accepted the Petition for Resignation of Co-Executrix Valerie Lynn Adamo in the estate of Pauline A. Petrovich and recorded that Dawn Petrovich will continue to serve as Executrix.
The minutes also list staffing and operations items: vacancies for a part-time radio administrator, a full-time paramedic for the ambulance service and several 911 dispatch openings. The commission ordered payroll withholding and multiple checks across funds as recorded in the minutes. The meeting adjourned following unanimous passage of the final motion.
