The Camden Fairview Board of Education voted unanimously in a December special session to hire Tara Armstrong as superintendent, and later minutes record the board's approval of an evaluation and a multi-year contract.
On Dec. 8, 2025, the board voted 7-0 to hire Tara Armstrong as superintendent effective immediately. Minutes from later meetings show Superintendent Armstrong delivering regular superintendent reports, including crisis plans, contracts, summer pay and fiscal updates. At the February 17, 2026 meeting the board accepted the superintendent's evaluation for 2026–2029 and approved a superintendent contract for that period.
Board minutes show the motions were moved and seconded and recorded with vote tallies. The board also authorized Superintendent Armstrong or Interim Superintendent Armstrong at various points to serve on external bodies (for example, a resolution to allow the superintendent to serve on the South Central Service Cooperative board was approved). The minutes do not include Armstrong’s employment terms beyond the contract approval reference; they do, however, record subsequent administrative actions and routine reports she presented to the board.
The hiring and contract actions were recorded as part of the district's routine personnel and governance duties and were approved by recorded vote in open session after executive-session personnel discussions where required by state law.
